Metal Band Poster Series #1 0Comments

swwaats-lo-res

Some of the names floating around in the metal music scene are pretty ridiculous. Some of the longest ones evoke lyrical and poetic imagery themselves, before the music is even heard. That was the inspiration for this series of posters. At least once a week this summer I will be releasing posters based on the names of some of my favorite metal bands.

The first band up is the ultra brutal southern US band Success Will Write Apocalypse Across The Sky.

25-snakes-01-01

Based on lyrics from The Mars Volta. The album is Frances The Mute, one of the best albums of all time in my opinion. The song is Con Safo from the movement “Miranda, That Ghost Just Isn’t Holy Anymore.” The full lyrics are:

Twenty five wives in the lake tonight
Raw bark in the water of the marble shrine
Twenty five snakes pour out your eyes
Yeah the icepicks cumming on the marble shrine
Twenty five snakes are drowning
